Pair Of 1950s Royal Doulton Old English Coaching Scenes Side Plates
A lovely Pair Of 1950s Royal Doulton Old English Coaching Scenes Side Plates.
The square plates, with scalloped corners, feature a red and black Royal Mail coach with two grey and two brown horses, and are part of the coaching day series ware.
In good condition with vibrant colours and no chips, cracks or restoration. They do have small manufacturing defects, including glazing marks on the base.
Designed by Victor Vennor, (an illustrator and cartoonist), the pattern was introduced in 1905 and withdrawn in 1955.
The base is marked with the Royal Doulton post 1930s back stamp, the pattern number D6393, (which dates to 1953), and the registered nos. 31933-49.
